A throw is one of the easiest gifts to get right: it suits a couch, a dorm, a guest room or a first apartment. Here are four throws in fleece, sherpa and faux fur, plus two weighted blankets, with the size and fabric for each so you can match the person.
The picks
One plain line per pick, with size and fabric where our list notes have them. Colors aren't named because several listings show more than one; pick the color on Amazon.

How we picked
Every throw here is on our Soft Throws and Weighted Blankets list on Amazon. We left the electric throw on that list off this page. We don't post prices or ratings because they change; check today's details on each listing.
Questions people ask
What size is a throw blanket?
There's no single standard. The throws on this page run from 50 x 60 in to 50 x 70 in, and the Cozy Bliss is listed in a 60 x 80 in Twin size. Check the size on each listing before you order.
What's the difference between sherpa, fleece and faux fur?
They're different textures. Fleece is smooth and plush, sherpa has a bumpy, wool-look pile, and faux fur has a longer pile. Several picks here are reversible, with a different texture on each side.
Can you machine wash these throws?
The UGG Bliss listing says machine wash cold on gentle and tumble dry low, and the Eddie Bauer and YnM are listed as machine washable. Check the care label for the others.
How do you wrap a throw blanket as a gift?
Roll it instead of folding it, tie it with ribbon, and tuck the card into the roll. No box needed.
